Help the brazilian indie horror "The Augusta Street Ripper"

WHO ARE WE?
This is the first association between directors Felipe M. Guerra and Geisla Fernandes, both recognized names in the independent circuit.
Felipe started making homemade productions on VHS in 1995 and has directed five feature films and several shorts, all with very low budget. Some of his works, as the satire “I Scream When I Knew What You Did in Friday the 13th of Last Summer Part 2” (2011), were shown in film festivals from Brazil, Argentina, Colombia and Puerto Rico. In 2009, he co-directed the music video “David Blyth’s Damn Laser Vampires” with the New Zealand cult filmmaker David Blyth, responsible for such films as “Death Warmed Up” (1984) and “Red Blooded American Girl” (1990).
Geisla, who graduated in the São Paulo International Academy of Cinema, produces, directs and writes. Among his works are the shorts “A Carne” (2007), “Na Privacidade do Número Ímpar” (2009), “López El Lobo” (2009), “Água Doce” (2010) e “Desalmados – Um filme de humor negro romântico” (2011). His latest work, the short “Necrochorume”, a zombie story, was screened at several festivals.
“The Augusta Street Ripper” has a small and competent crew, where one of the highlight is the special effects technician André Kapel Furman. One of the most famous professionals of Brazilian cinema, he worked in feature films like “Embodiment of Evil” by José Mojica Marins, “Drained” by Heitor Dhalia, and “Reflections of a Blender” by Andrew Klotzel.

WHERE THE MONEY RAISED WILL BE INVESTED?
We will pay our cast, cover our production costs (food, transportation, props, makeup FX material) and invest in the post-production (mixing and mastering). We will also use part of the money to fund the making of the gifts that will be offered as a reward for those who collaborate with our project. In a country where many filmmakers use money from the government to make movies that nobody want to see, we believe it’s more worthy to ask for the help of true fans of independent cinema (and genre cinema) to complete our humble short film. Besides that, we have always been encouraged to improve and investing more in our productions. So this is your chance to help us to do our job more seriously and professionally!

WHERE ARE WE WITH THE PROCESS?
The filming occurred in late 2012 and early 2013, in a total of 4 days. The short is now partially shot, and we need one more day of shooting. And we have all the post-production stage ahead.

HOW THE FILMING WAS FUNDED?
Believing in the potential of our work, we finance all, with the support and understanding of our crew, since most of the actors and technicians worked for free waiting for the future success of the crowdfunding project to receive a symbolic fee. We always produced our own films, sometimes without any financial return. This time, because it’s a more ambitious production, costs were higher and we hope to – at least – be able to cover them with the total collected.

WHAT ARE THE REWARDS?
We offer a lot of rewards, some related to the film, and some who actually took part in it, including props used by characters. We want to make you a part of our small team. Foreign contributions are welcome.

REPERCUSSION
It’s worth noting that, even not yet finalized, the short has had intense repercussions both in Brazil and USA, as you can check in the links below:
